President's Message
The 2007 – 2008 school year at Bert Lynn
is sure to be a great one! I am excited to again be serving as President
of the PTSA. Our theme continues to be ‘Bert Lynn PTSA – A Recipe for
Success’. If you haven’t already joined, please join the PTSA and become
a part of this fantastic organization. Membership information is
available in the office, on the school website, and page 2 of this
newsletter.
Please take the time to read all of the
information in this newsletter. It contains important PTSA and school
information, including fundraiser details. Your participation in our
fundraisers is what allows us to provide funding for the many PTSA and
school activities. Our biggest fundraiser is the Magazine and Cookie
Dough drive, going on right now. Thanks for your support!
I wish to thank everyone who volunteered
this summer to help with preparation of the summer packets and with
schedule pick-up. Your willingness to participate is what makes this a
great PTSA and school.
Thanks to the hospitality committee and
everyone who provided food for the fabulous Teacher/Staff Welcome Back
Lunch. Everyone at Bert Lynn appreciates a chance to relax and enjoy
some good food before the start of school.
Back to School night is Tuesday,
September 25. Please join us in the cafeteria at 6:00 p.m. for the first
PTSA Association meeting of the year. Classrooms will be open from 6:30
to 8:00 p.m. Please leave children at home for this event. Don’t forget,
this is a minimum day, 8:15 a.m.- 1:25 p.m.
The goal at Bert Lynn is for all of us to
work together to make the school year as enriching, productive and
positive as possible for our students. There are always opportunities to
volunteer – whether it’s chaperoning a dance, being part of the
Adventures in Art program, providing food for a teacher/staff luncheon,
or helping prepare the newsletter for mailing. I hope you will take
advantage of what we have to offer and in return offer us your skills.

Looking forward to a wonderful year!
