Babylonian Seals – Signets of the Ancient
World

have long been used in communication.
Students will learn about ancient Mesopotamia and
Babylon while developing their own personal signet in
soap and clay.


Modigliani – Portraits on Wood

African masks, developed a portraiture style using
elongated faces and tonal blending.
Students will create their own portrait in this
oil pastel on wood project.



Impressionistic Monet

Students will use acrylic
paints on illustration boards to re-create Monet’s
impressionistic masterpiece, “Sunset on Thames” in one
of three color schemes.
This guided instruction project will explore
Monet’s use of background, foreground, horizon line and
reflection.
